Topical lavender essential oil diluted in carrier oil for inflamed, irritated, or reactive skin. Linalool and linalyl acetate provide antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activity at the skin level.
1. Combine 4 drops lavender essential oil with 1 tsp of jojoba or coconut carrier oil in a small dish. This creates a 4% dilution appropriate for topical use. 2. Patch test on inner wrist and wait 24 hours before applying to sensitive or inflamed skin areas. 3. Apply a thin layer to the affected skin area using clean fingertips or a cotton pad. Gently massage in circular motions until absorbed. 4. Apply 2–3 times daily. For minor burns or insect bites, apply immediately after cooling the area with cold water. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
Best used as needed for acute relief; with regular use, supportive benefits build over 1 to 2 weeks.
Not the right fit if any of these apply to you: lavender allergy, open wounds, mucous membranes. When in doubt, check with your pharmacist or GP first.
Lavender essential oil has clinically documented anti-inflammatory and calming effects on skin. Its linalool and linalyl acetate components reduce redness and irritation while its calming aroma simultaneously reduces the stress response that worsens inflammatory skin conditions.
Apply to clean skin in the morning and evening after cleansing. Dilute to 2% in carrier oil. Can also be used in aromatherapy simultaneously for dual skin and stress benefit.
