Ingredients

How to prepare

1. READ FIRST: Do not use this blend if you take benzodiazepines (diazepam, lorazepam, clonazepam), Z-drugs (zolpidem, zopiclone), opioid pain medications, or drink alcohol regularly. Combined use risks dangerous over-sedation. 2. Combine 1 tsp dried valerian root and 1 tsp dried lemon balm leaf in a cup or small teapot with a lid. 3. Pour 250 mL of water just off the boil over the herbs and cover immediately. 4. Steep covered for 10–12 minutes. Valerian requires a longer steep than most herbs to extract valerenic acid effectively. 5. Strain and add honey if using. Drink warm, 30–45 minutes before your intended sleep time. 6. Use nightly for 2–4 weeks to assess full benefit — sleep improvements accumulate over consistent use rather than appearing immediately.

Why it works

Valerian and lemon balm both raise GABA, the brain's calming neurotransmitter, via different mechanisms, producing a synergistic sleep-promoting effect backed by clinical combination studies.
